32 Weeks

I haven't written in a while....I have been lazy, actually uncomfortable. It's getting closer and closer to my due date. Only 4-5 weeks left, not that I am counting down. The past few weeks have been noticibly more difficult. My belly has grown quite a bit (I'll post some pics today), therefore I am not sleeping as well and walking around and doing housework has become quite difficult.

I went to my dr. appt last week (thursday) and my belly measured 41 weeks-ouch! I gained another 2 pounds, 28 pounds so far, which is very good. I guess I have genetics to thank for that:) My blood pressure was a bit high, but nothing unusual. My glucosomine testing came back fine also. I am now going to the dr. every week now until the babies are born. My next ultrasound is on Jan. 10th.

I have everything I need right now for the babies. The nursery is complete and now I am just patiently waiting for the babies arrival!! I can't wait! They have been moving so much lately. I actually felt a whole outline of a foot last week. It was so exciting. The little boy's foot is up in my ribs, so every once in while I can feel the outline of it. The little girl is still breach.

Christmas was nice. We spent it in Ellensburg with Travis's family. It was nice and relaxing. I was just thinking......last year at this time we were in Rome:) Oh, I miss the red wine and pizza. I already know what I am eating for my first meal after giving birth.....since I have had to go 9 months without raw fish, I am getting the Ahi Tuna plate from Sen, a Japanese restaurant in Ellensburg.

Tonight is New Year's Eve, we are going over to Travis's sister's house. I can't believe that 2008 is only a day away. I promised myself that 2007 would be a good year and it was!! We traveled a bit and most importantly, got pregnant with twins. I already know that 2008 is going to be even more better. We have a lot up our sleeves and I can't wait to venture into the new year. I can't believe I am going to be a mom:)

Well, I am off.....I am going to make cookies today. Monster cookies, a recipe from Paula Deen (I watch A LOT of food network). They are my favorite. I will probably bring most of them over to Travis's dad so I don't eat them all.

I hope everyone has fun tonight and good luck in the New Year!!!!
XOXO Katie

The best way to go shopping!

Travis and I went to Costco this weekend and it's so hard for me to walk for a long time, so we had this great idea. It worked so good:)

Dr. Appt.

Today I had another Dr. appt. I had to have my gestational diabetes testing done, which I am sure will come out fine, since I haven't gained a lot of weight. I have been getting really bad heartburn, so it's hard to eat a lot of food. I have to take out any fried and spicy food of my diet, which will help it.

My belly measured 40 weeks!!! Full term for just one baby!! However, I still have 6-7 weeks left. I can't believe it's gone by so fast. My dr. said that I am doing GREAT, which makes me feel so good:) No swelling and I feel good, besides the heartburn. He doubts I'll make it out of January without having the babies, which is fine by me because I am ready to be done.

Travis came with me again. He loves to go. Last night we had a birthing class and he was a little annoyed because there was a UFC fight on TV he wanted to watch. He pouted a little, but you actually learn quite a bit at these classes.

Anyways, not much to update everyone on. We are just hanging in there, waiting for the day to come! I am so excited!

Crib Pictures

Yesterday we worked on the nursery all day. We almost have it done, just a few more things we need to add. I am going to put shelving up on each side of the windows to put picture frames and other little keepsakes. I also have to get some baskets for the changing table. I ordered wooden letters for their names that will go above their beds. We are also going to be adding shelves in the closet, so we can be more organized. So far it's all coming together! It's exactly what I pictured in my head for what I wanted my nursery to look like.

29 Weeks Belly Pics-Only 6-7 weeks to go!!

I am getting bigger and bigger!!! I can't believe it's almost over!

Ultrasound Appt.

Today we had another ultrasound. It went well. The babies are measuring perfect. The boy is a little bigger than the girl, but not by much. The boy is head down, but the girl has moved and is feet down. Hopefully in the next month she'll turn around again bc I really don't want to have a C-section. Oh well, I have to do whatever is best for the baby.

We saw a really good shot of the boys face....he's so cute! We saw both feet, 10 toes on each baby!! The dr. said that the boy has really long legs. I told Travis that he did not get that from him!! But of course for the 3rd time, Travis had the Dr. make sure that he was a boy. I swear, he's absolutely terrified that both babies are going to come out girls. He's so funny about it.

The babies are getting so big that everything is hard to decipher what body part is what in the ultrasound. So far, they are both estimated to be about 2.5 pounds each. That means that they will most likely double in weight before they are born in the next 8 weeks and that I am going to get bigger and bigger and bigger and bigger. I already feel huge. My ribs are so sore right now bc all my organs are pushed up inside them. I feel like I have been punched in the ribs. The babies are sitting right on my bladder, so I pee every 20 minutes. Getting out of bed or up to answer the phone is a huge accomplishment. I am just so uncomfortable.

Anyways, Travis tells me that I am glowing and that I am the prettiest I've ever been. That was such a nice compliment. He's so funny because he has a new nickname for my belly every week. He's been great and I know that he's going to be such a great dad! I can't wait for my family to be complete in just 8 weeks. It's crazy bc I feel like it's gone by so fast! I can't wait for them to come. The anticipation is killing me.

The birthing class went well last night. The 2 hours surprisingly went by really fast. Since we started 1/2 through the classes, last night we learned about the drugs you can have during labor, the tools that they use to help get the baby out (forseps, vaccum, etc.), the epidural needle (ouch), c-section, car seat safety and we toured the birthing center at the hospital.

That's about it!!!

I hope everyone is doing well!!

Birthing Classes

Yea, tonight we start our birthing classes!! From 6:30-8:30pm-Travis is just thrilled!! It'll be interesting and hopefully we'll learn a lot!!

Yesterday I had my maternity pictures taken. I think they'll turn out really good??? I took a bunch in the studio by myself, then Travis came and we took some in the studio, then we went outside to the park and took some more with just us and then some with the dogs!! They were such good models! We go and look at them on Monday at 6pm. I am excited to pick out the ones I want bc they can photoshop ANYTHING I want!! Yea!

Our next ultrasoud is tomorrow. I am excited. I just LOVE ultrasounds. I know things are going well bc the babies don't ever stop moving!! They just twist and turn all day and all night!!

Well, that is it. Today I am going to relax and watch the rest of season 4 of The O.C. and do laundry. I'll let everyone know how the ultrasound goes......

Bye!

Maternity Pictures

Today I am going to get my maternity pictures taken. I am so excited!! I hope they turn out good! Also, Travis and I have another ultrasound on Thursday!!! I LOVE ultrasounds.

I am soooooooo tired today. I couldn't sleep last night. I was just thinking about everything and how much my life will change, all the things I still need, questions I had for my Dr., etc. My mind was just racing! Plus, the whole sleeping situation isn't comfortable anymore. Miss Lily and Lucy think that the bed is theirs and they take up so much room for little 7 lb. dogs, leaving Travis and I totally uncomfortable. I can only sleep on my side, which makes my shoulder hurt and I have to have a pillow inbetween my legs. Lucy sleeps in the middle of us and if you move her while she is sleeping, she'll growl at you. It's acutally quite funny. And Travis snores. So, finally I moved to the couch and watched episodes of the OC Season 4. Then finally I went back to bed and slept until 9am. However, I am still so tired and I need to take those pictures today. Thank god I put lots of self tanner on look somewhat alive.

So, my doorbell just rang and of course Lily flipped out, anyways, my mattresses for the cribs came today!! I am so excited!! Now, I pretty much have everything for the nursery. My mom, sister and Alison are coming on Saturday to paint the room and then we'll get the furniture in on Sunday. I can't wait for it to be complete!!

I have my baby shower in Ellensburg on Saturday. I am really excited for it......I can't wait!!

Anyways, I'll put some belly pics up this afternoon.

OH......the snow is melting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Lily, Lucy and myself are all very excited for this!! We all hate the snow! Travis spent forever shoveling it all day on Sunday, then my Monday, most of it was gone....kinda funny, hee hee!!!

XOXO, Katie and the Twinies!!!

1st Snowfall of the Year

Here are some pics of all the snow and it's only going to get worse:(
P.S. I HATE snow!

The "Pre-Closet"

This is what their closet looks like before it's organized. Everything is just piled all over the nursery right now (I won't post pics of what the room looks like) Between bouncers, swings, jumperoo's, play yards, bath tubs, blankets, car seats, bags of clothes, it's a disaster! Travis and I plan on installing a closet organizer bc they have so much stuff and the dresser won't fit it all in. The closet is already more than 1/2 full with clothes.

Dr. Appt.

I had my doctor appointment this morning. Travis came with me today, which was nice. It snowed about 6 inches last night and there is no way I am driving my car in the snow, so he was sweet and took me. He was even outside this morning at 8am shoveling the driveway and icing the walkways!

Everything is still going well. I gained more weight.....at this point I am not telling numbers. It's scary and I hate it. No swelling or high blood pressure, which is good. The dr. measured my belly to be 36 weeks, which is almost full term for a singleton pregnancy.

My original due date is Feb 25th. But, since twins don't go past 37 weeks, it's Feb. 3rd. Dr. Larsen doesn't think I will make it out of January without having the babies. Travis and I have a bet and we think I'll have them at 35.5 weeks-which is less than 2 months aways.............scary!!

I am not at all nervous about the labor, I am more nervous to bring them home!! I know I'll be fine because luckily we have so much love and support from family! Everyone is so excited for them to come. I just hope they are both healthy.

I had my first baby shower a few weeks ago. I want to thank everyone who came, it was so much fun to recieve such wonderful gifts:) I can't believe how much stuff I have accumulated so far. These babies are SPOILED!!! Travis and I picked up the nursery furniture last weekend. My mom is coming next weekend to paint, so it'll be all up by next weekend and I will definately post pics as soon as it's finished. I can't wait-it's going to be so cute!

Other than that nothing is new. I have another ultrasound in 2 weeks, along with my next appointment. I still can't believe that this is almost over. It's crazy how quickly life changes! Travis told me today how proud of me he is. That meant a lot because I feel like the husband's don't understand how hard being pregnant actually is, especially when you are carrying twins. He's going to be such a good dad!

XOXO Katie and the Twinies!

Lily and Lucy go for a ride!

I spent the afternoon yesterday putting together the stroller, bouncers, swing, bath tub, etc and I wanted to test them out. Lily and Lucy were perfect for the job. Lily just tolerated it, however Lucy did NOT like it. We strolled them around the house for a bit and eventually I think they liked it. Travis calls this stroller my "Ford 350" because it's HUGE!!!

Grandma and Grandpa Kerber

My grandparents came out from Minnesota for Thanksgiving, so it was very nice to see them for the holiday. Travis wanted me to pose to the side so he could he could get a side profile of the belly. He calls me the "Twinkie Holder" and the twins are his "Twinkies" It's cute.

27 weeks Belly Pics

Here is a picture of my belly at 27 weeks. I can't believe that it has grown so much. I know to some people it may seem not very big, since I am having twins, but to me, it's BIG!! I am starting to get very uncomfortable!!

Ultrasound Appt.

Yesterday we had another ultrasound. I LOVE these appointments and so does Travis! So far, both babies are head down, side-by-side. I was so happy to hear that because I really want to try to have them naturally, w/drugs of course! The Dr. said they can still move, however they don't have as much room as just 1 baby and they are getting bigger and bigger, so I am just going to keep my fingers crossed they stay in this position.

Everything else was so perfect! Their hearts have the four chambers, their brains are developing, 10 fingers, 10 toes, lots of fluid in each sack and they are exactly the same size! Oh, and they are definatley a BOY and GIRL!!!

So, now, we just have to make sure they don't come before 36 weeks. My dr. says that most likely I'll deliever in the last week of January or early February. That means, I only have less than 3 months left!

I have been watching so many baby shows, Birth Day, Baby Story, Bringing Home Baby, that I am actually not afraid of labor at all, it's bringing them home from the hospital that terrifies me! Luckily i'll have so much support that I know we'll manage.

I have another Dr. appt tomorrow. I am there all the time!! As soon as I am in the 3rd trimester, which is only in 3 weeks, I'll be there every week and I'll be getting ultrasounds every 2 weeks.

It's getting uncomfortable to sleep right now. I have always slept on my belly and it's so hard to not be able to sleep in that position. I also woke up on Monday with a cold, so I have been very lazy, trying to get rid of it, but luckily I woke up today and was feeling much better!

It was Travis's birthday last week, Oct. 31 and he turned 29!! I made him a yummy German Chocolate Cake and I practically ate the entire thing. Finally I woke up one morning and I started to cut myself a piece and thought that I was being disgusting, so I took it and threw the last 1/4 of it away. Travis came home and thought I had polished off the rest of the cake and didn't believe me when I told him I threw it away. I don't know what my problem is lately. I just LOVE treats!!! Desserts, especially brownies!! I find myself in the baking aisle a lot at the grocery store. It's terrible!! I feel like an addict. I can't stop!! At least I have had no cravings for french fries!!! Other than that, I have been craving oatmeal and soy lattes from Starbucks. These babies are taking up so much room in my belly that I get so full, so fast, so I try to eat little meals throughout the day.

Anyways, not much else to update everyone on. I am enjoying my relaxing time of doing nothing. My house is so clean and organized, which I love! I rarely get out of sweats, but I don't mind because I don't want to buy maternity clothes. I would rather wait and go buy lots of fun stuff after that babies are born and I can fit into normal size pants and tops. Hunting season ends this weekend!!! yea!!! I get my husband back, but now he's obsessed with fixing up his old Bronco, but at least he doesn't have go anywhere except the garage for that. He's got a lot on his plate right now with work, so he's a bit stressed. He's been so great and thinks I look so beautiful, even though I feel like a whale!

The Yuppers!!

This is such a rare occaision, with Lily's ears sticking up. Usually they are flopped over. She's just so cute:)

They are so cute!

Lucy Lou with her froggie. She's always bringing toys and bones to bed. It's funny because we'll wake up and there will be a frog or whale in bed. She's so cute!!

23 Weeks

The "Belly" is getting bigger and bigger!

Dr. Appt

I had another dr. appt yesterday. I hadn't been for 4 weeks, which I usually go every 2 weeks, so it had been a while. Travis insisted on that he was going, which he doesn't really need to go, because they just weigh me, take my blood pressure, listen to the heartbeats and answer any questions. So, he showed up (20 minutes late, but showed up nontheless) and he's so cute in the appointment because he loves asking questions and he's so involved. It's quite adorable!

So, my blood pressure was a bit high. Nothing to be alarmed about, but something to be aware of. Also, I only gained 2 pounds, which makes 14 pounds so far. My belly measured to be 32 weeks!!! That means my belly is BIG! I am only 23. Obviously it will be bigger because there are 2 babies, but it's starting to get uncomfortable. Dr. Larsen told me that when I deliver I'll measure to be about 60-70 weeks, which is just GIGANTIC!!! Travis couldn't believe it. The dr. said that i'll be like 2 basketballs and that my long torso is a plus to have because it'll give them more room.

Travis and I are having maternity pictures taken. I figure it'll be a really good keepsake, since most likely this will be my only pregnancy. There is a local photographer that takes such amazing pictures. We have an appointment next week to figure out what we are going to do exactly, so hopefully within the next couple months we'll get them taken. Here is the link to his website to check his work out: http://www.rossjamesphotography.com/

I also started water aerobics!!!! Mon-Fri at 10 am. Me and 30 grandma's!! I love it and it's so refreshing and makes my belly feels completely weightless!

I am starting to get a bit bored. But, I am also starting to get more uncomfortable, so it's nice to not have to go to work. Yesterday, I had my dr. appt, then Travis and I went to breakfast, then we came home and he took a nap and I watched cooking shows (my new obsession!) with the dogs. It was a nice morning. Then, I met Travis's sister's and mom for a late lunch to celebrate his sister, Audrey's birthday. I am lucky to have 7 sister-in-law's that are the best!! I love all of them! Especially to be away from my family and friends, it's nice to have them around. So, yesterday was super busy!!! I actually got dressed and put make up on in the moring. This weekend, we are going to organize, organize, organize!!! Get all the stuff cleared out of the babies room. SO exciting!!!!

Anyways, so I PROMISE to put pics up. I know I am bad, but by the time Travis gets home to take them, I am already in sweats and do not want to have my picture taken.

XOXO!!!

Bigger and bigger......

So, this past weekend I was able to go over to Seattle on Wednesday and get a lot done. First off, I can't believe that I used to live over there........I can't stand the traffic and rain. I don't think it stopped raining the entire time and when you have naturally curly hair, it's not a good picture!! I am actually glad to be back in my little town of Ellensburg. Back to the simple life. However, I sure wish Ellensburg got a PCC or a Whole Foods.

I was able to get so much stuff done!!! My mom bought me the cribs and dresser/changing table. It's white and I don't have any pics of it bc it's not sold online, however they are so cute. I also picked out the fabric for the bedding, which my mom is going to make for me. I LOVE it!! I am going to have the cutest nursery ever!! I found exactly what I was looking for. My colors are light pink, chocolate brown and ivory for the girls bedding and light blue, chocolate brown and ivory for the boys. It's a stipes and polka dot combination and together..... it'll be so pretty!!! I can't wait to post pics of when it'll be done, which won't be for another month or so..........

I also did lots of shopping for baby clothes. I can't resist. There are so many cute things out there! I bought the outfits for coming home from the hospital, which I have had my eye on for a while. Janie and Jack has the CUTEST clothes and they even have premie sizes. Maureen also bought the little ones lots of outfits, she couldn't resist! Pottery Barn just opened a clothing store where you can get what you purchased embroidered. Needless to say, my trunk was full and Travis thinks that they won't need to go shopping until they are teenagers. I tell him though, that I am shopping for two and they need lots of outfits because they'll change a lot throughout the day and grow so fast!!

I start my water aerobics tomorrow. I am going to try to go 5 days a week. I need some sort of exercise. I can't just do nothing, but it's too uncomfortable to walk on the treadmill. My belly is getting bigger and bigger everyday. The babies are moving so much, which I love. I haven't had a dr. appt in 4 weeks, but I go in on Thursday. He'll probably schedule me for another ultrasound within the next couple weeks.

We have been trying to pick out names. Picking out names is so much harder than I thought it would be. I guess we still have a while before anything is set in stone, but I need to get the wooden letters for the walls. So far, we are thinking Presley for the girl and Cole for the boy. That is as of our conversation last night. The boy name ususally changes on a weekly basis, so we'll see next week.

Things are going well around here. Hunting season is over for the next few weeks, so I'll be able to spend some time with my husband. Then it's my baby shower, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's and my last month of being pregnant. It's almost over......I can't believe it's gone by so fast!! I just am hoping the next 3 months will go by smooth. I don't want to be on bed rest or be very uncomfortable.

Well I'll post some belly pics tomorrow. I hope everyone is doing well.

XOXO-Katie

I am seriously going to have my hands full when the babies are born. Lily and Lucy and it for a big surprise.

At the pumpkin patch.

21 Weeks

So, I am trying to post some pictures from this weekend, but our computer is being awful, so it'll take me a while.

I had my dr. appt last week and everything is going well. Just getting bigger by the day it seems. My belly measured 27 weeks, which is about 7 months pregnant and I am only 20 weeks, so my belly is quite big. If I were pregnant with just one baby, i'd just be starting to show, but these babies are getting bigger and bigger. Right now they are about 7 inches and weigh almost a pound each. I can feel them all the time now. It's such a neat feeling. Travis felt one kick the other night for the first time, he loved it. I gained another 2 pounds, which is good, since I haven't been working out.

That is about it. Not really anything to update you all on right now. I am going to start the nursery this month. I am going to pick out fabric for the bedding and window treatments next week with my mom. I know for sure it's going to be 1/2 blue, 1/2 pink, but I am not quite sure on patterns yet.

Anyways, I have been just a little busy bee around the house, trying to get organized before the twinies come. I have actually accomplished quite a few projects! Travis is off hunting for the rest of the month, so he'll be gone a lot, but I'll be busy decorating and shopping:) I feel great. I just feel big. It is horrible to get dressed bc nothing really fits right and you just want to wear sweats and t-shirts, so that is what I have been doing. Luckily the weather here is getting cold! Anyways, off the the gym. I am going to attempt it again this week. I have no idea why though, my body has been taken over........

I miss you all and I will get more pics up as soon as my computer is better.

Miss Lily Belle, that is her pumpkin she picked!

We went to the pumpkin patch this weekend to pick our pumpkins!

Big belly!
