New Stats.

The twinnies 2 year well baby check was this morning and I amazed myself and successfully went ALL by myself, since Travis had a client meeting over in Seattle today. All the nurses oohed and aahed over the twinnies, as they have gotten soooo big and obviously are soooo cute! It was an early morning for us today, Cash decided he wanted to get up at 4am, then minutes later Presley thought she'd join us. Cash has been trying to get over a bad cough for the past month and the poor little man couldn't stop coughing this morning.

Cash: 30 lbs 75% for weight and 36 inches and 90% for height
Presley: 25 lbs. 25% for weight and 32 inches 20% for height

The dr. said most likely double their heighth and that's what they'll be when they are full grown. So, Cash might be 6 feet tall, which I am super excited about bc unfortunately his daddy is only 5'8.

My little peanuts also of course hit all the milestones and I am quite proud of them. They are turning into be such smart, independent and perfect little people! I love them with all my heart. I am also impressed with myself. This time has just flown by so fast, I feel like a lot of the time I don't take enough time to really soak it up and enjoy it. Since day 1 I have been on survival mode. Learning to take care of two infants and how to be a mom is a tough job! It's funny how your mother nature just kicks in, that, and many hours spent reading books and being on the internet. I remember crying in bed in the beginning, telling Travis that I wished the babies were back inside me and that I didn't know if I could do it. Many times I have busted out the ear plugs or relied on the swing at 3am to put them back to sleep. I can't even tell you how much money I have spent on "D" batteries or the amount of times I have driven frantically to Fred Meyer to restock. The "binky" or "mee mee" as the twins call it, has been a staple in their mouths and let me tell you...it ain't coming out anytime soon. I love it that all my girlfriends are having babies and 95% of all of conversations are about kids and learning about their tricks. If it weren't for my friend Courtney, I'd be lost. I basically have just copied her for the past 2 years.

I truely believe that each child/pregnancy is a blessing. A gift from God. When you become a parent you are given the opportunity to have the most amazing gift and it's up to you to become the best parent you can be. So, thank you Presley and Cash...you have been the best little twinnies a mother could possibly ask for and have given me the opportunity to really feel what love feels like.

Weekend in Pics.

I feel like we have so much going on in the next few months, this weekend was nice to relax. We spent time with the Backlunds, played at the park, went to lunch with 6 adults and 6 children (4 toddlers) and survived, I got my hair done, had movie night with the hubby, and kids stayed up past their bedtime.
When is it too early to drink Starbucks? The cups were empty, but they decided it'd be fun to pretend while sitting on the kitchen table. I woke up on Friday to Daddy already having been to Starbucks to bring me my soy latte:)
Sissy is already becoming such a good mommy and she'll for sure be a big sister to the new baby!

Table danced with Makenna.

And Cash channeled his inner Elton John.

To be honest, I've been bad about taking pics. I guess I am just kinda burned out. Actually, this pregnancy is catching up with me. I am exhausted. This little baby is sucking all my energy from me. The combination of trying to keep this house from looking like two 2 year olds live here and running after the two 2 year olds has left me completely drained. Whoever reads this and has a little snuggly baby next to them, take in every moment bc that snuggly little baby will soon turn into a toddler. Toddlers are monsters disguised as humans. They are into everything, make lots and lots of messes, throw regular temper tantrums, and are almost impossible to take into public. It's funny because when I thought about having children I had no idea about this stage. I think every parent just needs to black it out or else the human race would come to an end. Just kidding......

Blog Addiction.

It's true, I am totally fessing up...I am addicted to blogs. The funny thing is, is I mostly spend my time looking at people's blogs I don't know, who don't even live in the state and whom I will never meet. During the kids's naptime when i should be getting stuff done, I am going from one blog to another. Most embarrassingly, Travis will come up behind me and ask, "Who is that?" My reply: "I have no idea". I learn so much from blogs....new recipes (which I try all the time), new beauty products or clothing ideas. Anyways, I just felt like I should fess up. I am sure there are lots of people out there just like me, or I hope.

I thought I'd share my new favorite blog.

I am actually going to shut the computer and take a nap, the twinnies and I spent all morning playing outside. I am exhuasted and my back hurts.

Birthday Weekend.

The twinnies party isn't planned until the end of the month, so we packed up and headed to visit the grandparents to celebrate 2 years! They had cupcakes and lots of goodies at Grandma Karen's house on Friday.

Cash and Presley both ate 2 cupcakes. Cash LOVES cupcakes. Presley just licks the frosting off.

Then on Saturday we braved the rain (it drizzled) and headed to the zoo. We started early and left before the rain got too bad. The kids loved the animals and most of all, they loved running around, jumpink in puddles and the Kettle Corn.

Grandma Maureen brought sweethearts...which were a big hit. It's funny how kids instantly love candy.

My sweet baby boy.

We had a great weekend, despite the rain on Saturday, it turned out to be nice on Sunday. The kids played so hard, they luckily were very good at taking naps and sleeping at Grandmas house. They got spoiled with lots of toys and treats. Travis and I were lucky enough to sneak away on Saturday night and had a nice dinner with Alison, Eric and Carter at The Melting Pot. It was delicious. 2 pregnant girls + a pot full of cheese and chocolate=Heaven!
Sunday, we were going to head to the children's museum, but the hours were from 12-5 and with two 2 year olds, 1 o'clock is naptime and NOTHING is to interrupt naptime. (I am so lucky bc my kids sleep from 1-4/5pm everyday:)) So, Grandma and I ventured to Target w/the kiddos. I didn't need anything in particular, but since I don't get to go very often, I always tend to go nuts! We even let the kiddos loose in the toy aisle and let them pick out toys. Then, headed over to Trader Joes, since i don't get to go there very often either. What a great day, for me at least!!! Valentines day wasn't very romantic. We drove home late on Sunday and didn't get home until around 8:30pm or so. It was a great weekend. Now, we are lucky bc it's been so nice in Ellensburg this week, so we've been going to the park everyday to soak in some Vitamin D. It's perfect outside!

28th Week.

28 weeks down. I had my dr. appt this past week and he told me that I could have my c-section on May 7th. Yea! I can't wait. It's gone by pretty fast, surprisingly!!

Happy Birthday!

It's Feb. 12th.....the twinnies birthday!! Hooray:)) My babies are growing...too fast. They are turning into the most amazing little beings. Travis and I are blessed! Here is a breakdown of the latest of all their little updates: I'll brag a bit.
  • Cash is 36 inches tall, Presley is 32.
  • Presley has all of her 2 year molars and Cash has 2.
  • They can count to 10 and we are learning to count to 20.
  • They can sing the abc's and are learning their letters.
  • We are also getting really good at knowing shapes and colors. Cash's favorite shape is a octogan...whenver we see stop signs, he's always pointing, saying, that's a "octagon".
  • They love tv. Yo Gabba Gabba and Wow Wow Wubbzy are their favorites.
  • We do weekly Kindermusik, gymnastics and storytime at the library and on Monday, we are starting a mom and tot dance class.
  • They still take a 3-4 hour nap from 1-4/5. Yea me!
  • They love animals and know all the sounds.
  • They are talking up storms...saying new things everyday.
  • We started "Time Out", which between the 2 of them, usually happens at least once a day.
  • Presley loves loves loves to sing. She knows all the songs...Black Eyed Peas, Jay Z, Carrie Underwood. It's hilarious driving in the car.

Overall, it still amazes me that I've made it 2 years. It's definately been the hardest 2 years of my life, but the best and most rewarding. They are the sweetest, most loving kids and are full of hugs and kisses. I am so lucky!

Cashy got a table train set.

Presley is our little artist, so she got a art easal w/ all the crayons, chalk, paint, and markers. She loves and has been coloring all day!
Travis and I put together their presents last night, so when they woke up they were surprised by their gifts. Their little faces just lit up and they've been busy all day. I have a party planned for them at the end of the month. Valentine's weekend seems to be a pretty busy weekend for everyone and with other plans, we couldn't figure out a date until the 28th. So, we are headed to Seattle to visit the zoo (if the rain isn't too bad), Children's Museum and the Pacific Science Center. A jammed packed kid friendly weekend.

New Toy.

Well, not really a new "toy", but anything that is in this house, the twinnies consider
"toys". A new play n pak arrived yesterday for baby #3. The nursery is complete! It's a traveling nursery on wheels. Immediately the twins wanted to get in. Presley got daddy's phone. She held it up to her ear and said, "Hi, Wubbzy." Wubbzy is the twinnies favorite cartoon, along with Yo Gabba Gabba. I guess Presley and Wubbzy on are good enough friends they talk on the phone.
Presley was kissing the teddy bears. Kids look like ragamuffins...i know. It was a long night. Cash got up with a fever, then Presley refused to go back to bed. Ahhhh...I can't wait for the mornings when they can get themselves up, make themselves breakfast, watch cartoons and allow Mommy and Daddy to sleep in. Just when I think it's getting easier, I have to get pregnant again and it's starts all over again with the night feeds and sleepless nights. This whole parenting thing is not glamourous AT ALL...as I am sitting here and haven't showered since Tuesday, TMI, I know. Here is proof I am a super housewife: I got up up at 6:30 before anyone, watched Mercy and Millionaire Matchmaker, drank 2 cups of coffee, ate my oatmeal, got the twinnies up, fed, changed and clothed them, got dinner in the crock pot, steam cleaned the hallway, did two loads of laundry, and uploaded pics to my blog...all before 11am and I am almost 7 months pregnant. Whew....I think I am going to take advantage of my spa certificate Travis bought me and book a massage and facial appointment.

Crazy Hair.

We had a rough night. Poor little man had a 103 temp and was up from 12-2. He woke up feeling much better today and had a super cool hair-do.

Ahhhhh....JCrew.

Oh, how I miss those days of shopping in your store. Yesterday was a torturous day, as I received the JCREW catalog in the mail. I internet shop all the time, but I still love to look through catalogs and when the JCREW catalog arrives, it's as much fun as getting US Weekly on Thursdays. . However, as the size of belly seems to be increasing on a daily basis, its just pure torture to look through the catalog. As soon as my this baby weight is off...it's on! I can't wait!

Food, Inc.

I have always been really into eating healthy. Unfortuately at times, I wish I wasn't so obsessed. There are times when I would just love to have the attitude to eat just whatever I choose, but fitting into those perfect skinny jeans just overwhelmes me. Last week watching Oprah, changed my life...at least for the next few weeks. I wish I had the willpower to be a vegan...but cheese just calls my name waaaaaay too often. So, I opted to go the organic route, especially with meat and dairy. Watch this movie. It'll change how you eat. Not only am I changing the way I eat, I am changing the way the kids eat. I am guilty.... open our freezer and bags of dino nuggets, bagel bites and other frozen goodies we've picked up at Costco for the the twinnies to eat fall out. I am no longer going to feed my children processed food. I am sure they will not like the new food choices presented to them, however at this stage in their life, they have no choice. I am going to get off my lazy, pregnant ass and put more thought into their food. Wish me luck...I am up against two 2 year olds.....
On a side note: It's pretty sad when you drive by Dairy Queen and the twins say "ice cream", Campus U Tote Em is "sandwich" and McD's is "french fry".

Coming to the Big Screen!

I just loved these books and I just read that they are coming to the big screen!!! I am soo excited and Ginnifer Goodwin will be starring! It's supposed to start shooting in the Spring!

Can't wait.

Oh...and only 4 days until Dear John...not that I am counting down.....
