3rd Week.

Little Violet has been in our lives for 3 weeks now and it seems as if it's been forever! She is awake a bit more and loves to watch her surroundings. I think Cash and Presley serve as a great source of entertainment for her. Presley loves kissing on her, holding her and is always trying to help. Cash is warming up, a few kisses here and there and a quick rub on the head. Violet has big eyes and already her lashes are getting thicker. Her hair is still very dark and not much has fallen out. Her skin is perfect. Her only downfall......she has my feet. Big feet. Poor girl. At least I'll have someone to pass my giant shoe collection to.....

I am jealous of his eyelashes. So big and so thick. Cash is turning into a typical 2 year old. He's so much work. I am secretly very happy that Violet is a girl because I don't think I can handle 2 boys. Boys are soooo much work!

Presley just watching her show and eating a snack.

Overall, I am still trying to adjust to being a mom to 3 kids. It's tough. I want to make sure that I give a lot of attention to the twins, but Violet takes up so much time. I am grateful for having the twins first. They play together, which allows me time to feed Violet without being interrupted. They are still taking great naps, which allows me time to get in a few hours of sleep during the day. I have successfully showered everyday this week and we actually got out of the house...went to the park and to a playdate at Ryder's house. This weekend is Memorial Weekend. Travis is taking the twins camping Fri-Sun, so Violet and I are heading over to Seattle. I haven't left Ellensburg since March and I need a much deserved trip to Bellevue Square, Trader Joe's and Target. Violet's new stroller will be delivered today, so we'll test that out.

Cookie Monster.

We made cookies today....can u tell who ate some?
She's in this weird stage of dong this cheesy smile while squinting her eyes...silly girl!

2 weeks.

What? It's been 2 weeks already? I can't believe it! I've loved every minute of it, even though it's been little crazy. She had her 2 week appt yesterday and she was already 7lbs 6 ozs, which is comforting knowing she's gaining weight and growing. She's such a joy and an amazing baby. I just love love love her more than words.......

Bathtime....obviously you can tell I really get myself ready. These days I am lucky to take a shower. Yesterday I actually forgot to shower. This morning when I was in the shower, I was thinking to myself..."I totally forgot to shower yesterday..." I am loosing my mind. I actually had to ask Travis what President Obama's first name was? I know, ditsy. I blame it on the pregnancy/new mom brain. He looked at me and asked, "Are you serious?" I just started laughing bc i was so pathetic....obviously you can tell we watch more Fox News rather than MSNBC in our house.

When the twins nap, Violet and I nap together. This is what I got to snuggle next to today.

Like I said before....she's an amazing baby. So content and hardly cries. I am so lucky!

Weekend in Pics.

It's hard when your recovering from surgery, have a newborn and basically stuck in the house on a nice weekend, but we managed to get lots done and have fun!
Violet did a lot of this.
Presley dug in our beds.

The twinnies played in daddy's "Monster Truck" as they call it.

My mom planted my pots.

Presley rode her bike.

Carter, Alison, and Carol came for a visit to meet baby Violet.

Violet took a sun nap.

We planted our garden.

And broke out the hose and water table.

....and more of baby Violet.

Pretty uneventful weekend. My mom left yesterday. It's my first day taking care of 3 kids...wish me luck. Travis was such a big help this morning. It's raining out, we're all still in pj's, watching "Bee Movie" in bed. Life is good.

What we've been up to......

Baby Violet has been in our lives for a week now. It's been actually quite easy to adjust to the new little family member. Luckily, we've had help. My mom has been here for a week and I don't think I could've survived without all the help. I am still recovering from the c-section, but I am now feeling a lot better. 2nd time around is much easier than the 1st time. To be honest, having 1 baby is so easy. Today is the first day I finally got out of the house, washed my hair, drove my car, went to the park, got a coffee from a drive thru, dropped drycleaning off and got my mail. It's the simple things that make me happy.....
Cash has been flashing us his cheesy smile lately.
Baby Violet and I had our dr. appt on Tuesday. She now weighs 6lbs 12oz, only 2 oz away from her birth weight. Dr. said she's doing well.

Her little face is starting to fill out.

Presley loves holding her sister, where Cash could really care less.

Twinnies have been busy playing.

The weather finally cleared up, so we've been outside soaking up the Vitamin D.
Cash discovered the hose and has been busy watering my plants.

Today we ventured to the park for a picnic and playtime. Violet didn't open her eyes...she just lounged.

I finally got a pic with the twinnies both smiling.

Exhausted after being at the park....baby Violet resumes to her favorite position. I just soak it all in..kissing her sweet little head a million times a day and thanking God for bringing Baby Violet into my life.

Seriously...could she get anymore delicious. I just could eat her all up...oh wait, I do.

Violet Olivia Gibson

Some more cute pics of the irresistably cute Violet.

I know she's only 4 days old and it may be too soon to speak, but Violet is as close to perfect as perfect can get for a newborn. I still haven't heard her cry. She whines a little when she's hungry or getting dressed, but other than that...nothing. She just kind of goes with the flow and hangs out. She's sleeps really good. We went to bed last night at 9:30 and she woke up at 12am, again at 4am and we all got up together at 7am. Travis and I have always had a strict "no babies in bed" policy, but now that little Violet has arrived, she's been in our bed every night. She sleeps on my chest and I just can't get enough. I have been quite the baby hog and I rarely put her down. Since the tubes have been tied, I know that this is our last baby. I am trying to suck it all in and really appreciate every moment. The twin's baby stage was such a blur, so this has been such a treat! Having a 2nd pregnancy is soooooooooooo much easier. I am healing so much faster, it's less painful, less stressful and overall the best experience ever! I actually like getting up in the middle of the night with her. Just her and I. Feeding her and kissing her perfect little face. She's precious.

Violet Olivia....

Daddy and Violet. (Travis can't shave until his baseball team looses...hence the beard.)
Her first hair bow.

Presley is already such a good big sister. If she could hold her and kiss her all day, she would. She loves her baby sissy.
Baby feet are irresistible. Violet has the longest toes and biggest feet for such a little baby!

Well, she's officially 2 days old now. So far, she's been amazing. She is sleeping, hardly cries and is breastfeeding perfectly. Last night she only got up to eat and for a diaper change, then went to bed immediately. I have been quite the baby hog. I can't let her go. She's been sleeping on my chest every night. I didn't get to do this with the twins bc there were two of them. My surgery went well. I lost quite a bit of blood, so I have to be on iron pills and was quite light-headed for a while. I was up and walking the first day and now, 2 days later, with the help of drugs. We are leaving the hospital today. I can't wait to be at home. I miss the twins. We've had tons of visitors, which make the days go fast. As I am typing this, Travis left to go home and take a shower and it's just Violet and I. She's sleeping on my lap. I can kinda see now why people have so many children. Babies are delicious. This time with the twins was such a blur, so I am really trying to soak it all in. Violet makes our family complete.

More Baby Violet.

She's only a 1.5 days old and we have about 200 pics of her. She's irresistible.

Introducing....

Violet Olivia Gibson
6lbs 14 oz 19 inches long.

Getting ready for surgery.
Mommy and Daddy before the surgery.

First screams.
Proud parents.
Big and Little Sissy.
Big brother and Little sister.
She's such a perfect little angel.

We checked in at 6:30am. Violet was born at 9:10am. Surgery went well. I was so much more relaxed and calm this time. Dr's and nurses said I was a perfect patient.

I am so in love. Violet makes our family complete!

I'll post more of her birth story and pics later.....baby's calling.
