Butter.

My new favorite nail polish. I love it.

I LOVE my life!

This is how my night/morning played out.....

  • 7pm:  Put the twins to bed.  Presley threw a brutal tantrum before....that was fun!  Put Violet down.
  • 9pm:  Violet's up....fever 102.5
  • 12pm:  Violet's up again...get up, change her diaper, her clothes, dog pukes all over my bed, change sheets, feed violet, put her down, go to sleep.
  • 4am:  Violet's up again....still a fever, more tylenol.
  • 5:15am:  Violet's up again...feed her, put her down.
  • 6: 45am:  I wake up, twins are awake, Cash spilled an entire bottle of coffeemate creamer all over the floor that Travis left out.  Clean it up, Violet wakes up.
  • 7am:  Cash informs me the dog pooped in the playroom.  Clean it up.
  • 7:15am:  Is it too early for a glass of wine?  Feed the twins breakfast, get coffee made, feed Violet.
  • 8am:  Put Violet down for a nap and put Swan Princess on for the twins, so I can sit down and breath......
  • 9am:  Cash starts digging in the freezer for Go-Gurts.  He wants a snack.

OMG>....................i need a vacation!  and it's only 9:30am.  Travis left at 6am for a day filled with meetings, most likely meaning he won't be home until late tonight.  Fun times.  Fun times.

Art.

We do a lot of beautiful artwork in this house.  She's a future picasso and takes it very seriously!

Just a few...

...of my baby Vi.

Where's Violet

I ran to go to something real quick and came back and couldn't find Violet.  I soon found her behind the couch.  I remember the twins's used to do this when they were little.  I guess she's catching on to Hide-n-Seek, since the twins's and I play this game 500 times a day.

Boys Vs. Girls.

This is Presley's idea of playing.....

...and this is Cash's.

Big Difference.

Movie Time.

Travis and I put our old TV in the kids's room.  I know, bad parenting, however...it's actually the best idea ever.  It actually makes them watch less tv because they only watch a movie and not back to back shows on cable tv in the family room.  Plus, I get to enjoy the Today show with my coffee in the a.m. and I don't have to watch Toy Story 3 or Kung Fu Panda for the 1,000,000th time.

Snack Time.

Violet now participates in snack time at the kid table.

Bath Time.

Now Violet can join big brother and sissy in the tube.  She loves her baths.  She loves being a part of the chaos.  She's growing up too fast.

Hoo Hoo Hat.

Potty Update.

I know all of you have been dying to know how it's going on in the Gibson household....so, drumroll..........

we have successfully potty trained the twins. Hallelujah! Hip Hip Hooray! Dear Sweet Jesus! I just want to get down on my hands and knees and kiss the potty gods because we have been diaper free since Saturday!!! Wahoo! A few accidents here and there and I am terrified to leave the house, but considering the twins absolutely could care less about the potty a week ago, I consider the "3 Day Potty Training Method" an absolute success and recommend it to EVERYONE! If I can do twins at one time, it'll work for everyone! Sure, we haven't left the house since Friday, I've done a million loads of laundry, steamcleaned the carpet a few times, but it's all been worth it. I am so proud of my little twins. I can't believe they are getting so big, turning 3 in less than a month.

I feel like super mom. I feel like I need a drink, or 5. And I definately think a trip to Nordstom is in my future this weekend! Momma needs a prize.

3 Day Potty Training Method.

Since the twins are going to be 3 next month, I have decided to get them potty trained before the big day, just so that I don't feel like a failure as a mother. So, I read the ebook, over and over, got the panties, did all the laundry, bought the treats/toys, and I've been talking to them about it all week. The anticipation was killing me. A serious knot in my stomach. I was just dreading it being a fight. Travis thought I was crazy. I told him, that as a SAHM, this to me is like preparing for that big client meeting.

We woke up, had the kids throw away all their diapers and pull ups, changed them out of their last diaper, put the big kid panties on and waited. I think I've said, "Tell Mommy when you have to go potty, OK?" at least 850 times today. But, you know what? It works. Presley hasn't had an accident all day and has peed in the potty about 6 times. Cash, on the other hand has had 3 accidents, but has still done good potty's on the toilet. I am so freaking happy, you have no idea.

So, we are 1/2 done with day one. We still have 2.5 days left, so we'll see. But, this is a start!

Eighth Month.

Trying to get a good pic of Violet sitting up still is completely impossible. Other than that....BEST. BABY. EVER!
I could probably do this whole motherhood thing with 1 child with my eyes closed, especially if that 1 child was Violet. She's a breeze.

Organized?

Ok people, this is organized, or as organized as you are gonna get in my house. And you know how long it stayed like this? For about 2 minutes. Every once in awhile, I blow up. Emotional melt down. You'd probably think it was more often, but a few emotional meltdowns ago I went and saw my doctor and cried to him for about an hour before he put me on some meds to help with my anxiety, patience and overall mood. I told my Dr. "I feel like I need to smoke pot." He laughed as I was completely serious. He's always been very attentive to my situation and as in "situation" it means two 3 year olds and a newborn. Asking me how it is going? Do I feel all right? Most of the time I try to keep it together, pretend like I am supermom and say, "Oh, ya I am great!" "This whole motherhood thing is butterflies and rainbows." But the honest to god truth, it's f*&^ing hard. Really really hard.
I seriously feel like all I do is change diapers, clean, clean, clean, laundry, laundry, laundry, cook, cook, cook, yell, and then clean some more. So, when asked today by a mom at gymnastics if I was going to go back to work when the kids are in school? The answer "HELL NO!" I am going to drink my coffee, watch the Today show, take a nice bath, and go to the gym.

Every day I am challenged. I feel like as soon as I get used to dealing with one phase, another starts and I have to learn to conquer that one and so on.....So, now I have my biggest hurdle yet....potty training. My kids have had NO interest whatsoever. But now, with their 3rd birthday only one month away (WTH?? It's been 3 years?) they are starting to FINALLY show interest. So, I am going to roll my sleeves, get the steamcleaner ready, candy bowl filled and get them to go potty in toilet.

Coffee.

As a SAHM, I pretty much need an IV of caffiene poured into my veins every morning. Before I pee, before I get the baby up, before I tend to the twins, I must make coffee. And every morning I hear Travis complain about our coffee maker, he hates it. I don't mind it because I have other things to complain about, like my carpet (I HATE my carpet), anyhow, the other day I went over to the Smith's house and they were showing me their new coffee maker, a spiffy new fancy Keurig. So, in obvious fashion, I the annoying friend that I am to Courtney (sorry, Court!) who copies everything she does, came home and told Travis about it and SOLD! Got it today and am in LOVE!
Buy it HERE.

Random Ramblings....Part Deux.

1. Dinner time with toddlers is my least favorite part of the day. Cash loves carbs and Presley loves protein. There is no happy medium.
2. Yesterday for lunch Cash ate 2 hot dogs, mac and cheese and doritos....i give up on the whole organic meal plan.
3. Paying the cleaning lady is the best money I've every spent....I have a clean house for 2.5 hours.
4. 3 months off from working out.....uggggggg, back on the treadmill. Thank god for breastfeeding, it makes weight fall off even as I indulge in campus-u-tote-em. I just might breastfeed until V is 3....kidding!
5. J. Crew's shipping prices are ridiculous. I paid $17.50 today.
6. I spent last week with 3 sick kids and a sick husband. Why is it the kids are easier to please and take care of combined than the husband?
7. Thank you for shows being back on....I missed you Pretty Little Liars. Yes, I am 31 and I watch ABC Family Channel.
8. I can't believe I am turning 32...I swear high school was just a few years ago, I still can remember what I wore on the first day.
9. Travis bought me new clothes for Xmas, but I can't seem to where anything except for my $10 snowman pjs I bought at Fred Meyer.
10. Snow is over-rated. Big time.
11. The only reason I keep my dogs is because they are great at cleaning up the floor after the twins are done eating. J/K...kinda....
12. I saw Black Swan and wow...Natalie Portman is amazing and I wish I could do ballet.
13. I love the new OWN network.
14. I am excited for 2011. I am lucky. Life is good, I really need to remember that.

Kiddos.

My kids are my world. Love them.
Happy New Year!
